Kohl’s Corp. has announced the list of 400 retail stores nationwide that will feature a Sephora at Kohl’s shop by the end of the year.
There are currently 200 Sephora at Kohl’s shops, and Kohl’s
is on track for 850 shops by 2023.
There are 18 locations coming to New York, 17 headed to Pennsylvania, 14 going to Florida and 46 going to California this year.
Each Sephora at Kohl’s is a 2,500 square-foot shop with an assortment of makeup, skincare, hair and fragrance brands, and will have beauty associates trained by Sephora available to help.
Six new brands are also coming to the shops, including Murad, Clarins and Versace.
Kohl’s has been at odds with activist investor group Macellum Advisors GP LLC, which recently announced its 10 nominees for directors of the Kohl’s board.
Kohl’s has talked up its turnaround efforts in response, with the Sephora partnership key among them. The retailer has put a “poison pill” in place, and has rejected buyout offers.
Kohl’s is scheduled to report fourth-quarter earnings on March 1, and host its Investor Day event on March 7, according to a FactSet calendar.
Kohl’s stock is up 16% over the past year while the benchmark S&P 500 index
has run up nearly 12%.
